"2112 Smooth" and "Chicagoin'" -
Chicagoin' features a sample of Common from his classic track "Chi City" with the line "they ask me where hip hop is goin,' it's Chicagoin' - poetries in motion like a picture now showin, it's the City." I always wanted to do something with that and forgot and then he dissed the fuck out of Canada Dry and it reminded me. It's definitely a "Chicago Anthem" type beat so I'm going to definitely shop it to some of the local up and comers. Listen and enjoy!

(my Common fans will see what I did there)
sup.
So on a side note real quick. DAVID STERN IS A BASTARD. November 1st came and went yesterday and should've, could've, would've been the first day of the NBA season AKA the first day of DA BULLS' season and a game against the defending champion Mavericks no less. So therefore I'M PISSED. FUCK YOU DAVID STERN.
So I give you the
top ten moments from Derrick Rose's MVP run last season.
....Anyway - I just uploaded a new batch of beats. 4 of them to be exact (should've been 5 including "The Hawk" but I let that out early cuz it 'twas so dope): "Interesante," "Dark Arts," "Dope, Injected By Ear" and one of my personal all time favorites I've done recently "Cement Symphony." So definitely sit back, smoke it if you got it and enjoy the newwww. (Which PS - mari-joo-wanna could be getting decriminalized in the Chi soon. WIN!)
A side-blurb about "Interesante" - first of all the sound, right off the bat is obviously pop. With that being said I'm not sure exactly who I'd be selling out to or from by making a pop beat so I don't really give a fuck, but I went in to it wanting to take a basic melody like the one featured in Interesante and put on a light show with it, and then of course add some dope horns and this track is actually pretty fucking insane. Not to mention, also of course the bass is ridiculous. And the title, well I suppose that's counter-culture in a sense but it's more-so to break the monotony of titling beats. As a creative right-brained type it's literally imperative to our happiness that we constantly create and make something new. In my case it's new music, but actually CREATE; push the forefront and do something I've never heard other producers do before. So with that being said, coming up with cliche ass titles for shit gets super old after a while when your right brain is screaming things at you like "cliche" and "oh how clever anotherrrrrr title" and etc etc. especially on my more "pop" work, so I said FUCK YOU right brain, here's a curveball: INTERESANTE. Latin flare, yeah I bet you didn't see that shit coming.
Speaking of coming, there will be more to come on chitowncommando.com!!
That didn't sound right...
haha!

Hello ladies and gents,
I just posted a new beat called "The Hawk" which is incredibly wild. I was listening to songs about or inspired by Chicago and probably syphoned through a good 40 songs before I found this one and it was perfect. Lou Rawls (a Chicago native) starts the song off talking about "the hawk," aka that bitch of a wind that when you get on the side streets can literally damn near put you on your ass off the lake that gives Chicago the nickname the Windy City. (They say it was long winded politicians or whatever that bull is but come to Chicago and you'll see why it's REALLY the Windy City). I usually don't sample, but I wanted to find something Chicago related to try to send to dope Chicago artists that grew up in the city. "The Hawk" was born. Now turn it up and enjoy.

We released one of the tracks off of the project as a preview called "Bang For Me" featuring Scud One (@ScudOne) and Shawn Kannon on the hook, which you can
